Dennis and I went to Utah on Friday. We were so lucky to have a quick flight with a half hour layover in Denver. I knew it was a quick one so I found our next terminal immediately and luckily it wasn't hard because it was only a couple of gates down. We got there and sat down right in front of the desk. We waited and waited for them to start boarding our flight.... and then I started to wonder when it was getting time for the flight to take off. So I asked someone who called our gate and found out that I just missed it and they were taxiing. (!?!?!?!?) How could that happen... I was right there. Well, I felt very stupid and everyone treated me as if I had never flown before and blah blah blah. I only fly at least 4 times a year. I didn't totally space it either. There was never anyone at the desk and from where I was sitting there was a HUGE pillar blocking the actual door to our plane. I saw a line but assumed it was for the next gate (they were all right next to each other). And I was always listening to the intercom of which was never a flight to SLC. So, I'm guessing that they had the final boarding call for SLC before I got off my other plane. The flight attendant claims that she was looking for me. But lets be honest- HOW COULD SHE MISS ME!!! I wasn't sitting in a chair. I was sitting with Dennis's car seat right in front of the desk!!! I heard many other names being called on the intercom but never mine. Anyways- 4 hours later and a couple of tears I made it on my flight to SLC and I am so glad that I made it. Dennis was actually really good too! He took a nap in his stroller in the airport! MIRACLE!!!

happy father's day
Dennis and I left for Utah on Friday for my friend's wedding and will be gone for a month. Unfortunately, that means that we were not with Ryan on father's day. We called him this morning and he said that he waited and waited in bed but breakfast never came. :( We promise to make a random day super special for you, Ryan! Ryan is an extremely awesome dad- just ask Dennis. He LOVES this guy.
Hope your day was special anyways! We love you!

stories
* We were in Minnesota having a good time. Dennis was eating big meals and playing hard. One night he woke us up screaming hysterics. We were puzzled. He hasn't woken up in the middle of the night in so long. I thought a drink might help him out but he just dumped in all over his pjs. So now he was screaming, wet and not wanting to take his clothes off. After a while of struggling with no success of getting them off Ryan decided to start asking him questions to figure it out. (Duh. My nighttime brain doesn't work so hot.) Dennis continued to cry through the questions until Ryan asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want some food?". The immediate response was, "FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD". No more screaming. No more fighting to get dry pjs on. He knew he was understood and would eventually get what he wanted. We went downstairs and he ate a pbj sandwich and went immediately back to bed without any fight. Growing much? After the week we measured him. Yep- 2 inches in 3 weeks.
* In the plane on the way to Utah Dennis was playing with some toys when the flight attendant came on the intercom and started to explain the safety instructions. Dennis must have thought that she was saying a prayer because he immediately folded his arms and bowed his head.
* Dennis loves to play chase and hide and go seek with his daddy.

minneapolis
On our last day we went to the Kobs picnic! All of the descendants of my great-great grandparents are invited to come. Dennis got to walk Buster and loved it.
We got to see my brother Reed and his family.

Dennis loves his cousins. As much as Dennis looks like Ryan- I think he looks a lot like my family too.
We also love cousin J! Isn't he adorable with his hair and glasses? I could just squeeze him.
And so sweet.
