yard work

This was much too fun not to share. Dennis helped papa out in the yard with putting patches of sod in. He wanted to be apart of every step. literally. Hopefully, he keeps this motivation throughout his life!

dancing skills

Dennis has some mad dancing skills. Watch him dance to his favorite song these days... a 15 second money song from a greetings card.

Check out Dennis' amazing mashing abilities.

strawberries

So we went strawberry picking and it was so much fun! Dennis got to ride in his little wagon.

And as soon as we started picking strawberries... he didn't want to move. He thought we were dishing up his tray- He would just eat one after another... luckily he got sick of them and we could start a pile to take home.
Then he got out of the wagon to help us pick. He loved running around in the field and helping us pick the berries. But, once in a while he wanted a quick and easy snack, so he sat down next to our box.
mmm so good. It reminds me of that book about blueberry hill. curplink, curplank, curplunk.
He had so much fun on the ride home with not just 1 but 2 twelve year old gals that love him. (check out that red smear down his arm and on his face)
He had to have strawberries for breakfast the next day too! Nonnie's specialty- strawberries on toast.
Thanks for the great day!

reunion wedding

This first picture is before the wedding. We went to SLC to a sidewalk art show. And, I got to see some old friends from college. Actually, the day was packed with college reunions. LOVED IT!! This was Andrea, Kristina, Mitch, Micah, and me. Andrea and Kristina were on my dorm floor freshman year and Mitch dated my roommate and Micah and I went on a road trip to his house in Cali with some other people. Soooo good to see these guys. I see Micah every 3 years or so for about a half hour. Solid friendship don't you think?

Then there was the wedding! Don't they look great! Allison & Brad Snelson
We were so hot waiting for them to come out of the temple that a few naughty girls dipped their feet in the Provo temple fountain! These are my friends Taylor and Erica. Both gals I hadn't seen in several years.
My Allison BFF. LOVE THAT GIRL. And I love her family. So, I took a road trip to her house in Cali sophomore year and her family totally adopted me and treated me as their own- not like they needed another one-They have 14 kids. But, I still feel like I belong with their clan 8 years later. I walked into the sealing room a little late and as soon as I came in Alli's dad said, "hi Rita". I guess you had to be there... but it totally made me feel special. I love those guys.
Here are all of my friends that came plus a few: Nikki, Erica, Andrea, Allison, Kristina, me, some girl, Taylor, Berta, Kate. I wish Kamden, Marie, Katie, & Abby could have made it- We missed you all!
Here is a picture of a few of my favorite people. Kristina and Rachel. Rach was my room roommate freshman year. We really grew up together. And Kristina was just down the hall. BFFs!
It was a party to remember.

traveling

Dennis and I went to Utah on Friday. We were so lucky to have a quick flight with a half hour layover in Denver. I knew it was a quick one so I found our next terminal immediately and luckily it wasn't hard because it was only a couple of gates down. We got there and sat down right in front of the desk. We waited and waited for them to start boarding our flight.... and then I started to wonder when it was getting time for the flight to take off. So I asked someone who called our gate and found out that I just missed it and they were taxiing. (!?!?!?!?) How could that happen... I was right there. Well, I felt very stupid and everyone treated me as if I had never flown before and blah blah blah. I only fly at least 4 times a year. I didn't totally space it either. There was never anyone at the desk and from where I was sitting there was a HUGE pillar blocking the actual door to our plane. I saw a line but assumed it was for the next gate (they were all right next to each other). And I was always listening to the intercom of which was never a flight to SLC. So, I'm guessing that they had the final boarding call for SLC before I got off my other plane. The flight attendant claims that she was looking for me. But lets be honest- HOW COULD SHE MISS ME!!! I wasn't sitting in a chair. I was sitting with Dennis's car seat right in front of the desk!!! I heard many other names being called on the intercom but never mine. Anyways- 4 hours later and a couple of tears I made it on my flight to SLC and I am so glad that I made it. Dennis was actually really good too! He took a nap in his stroller in the airport! MIRACLE!!!

happy father's day

Dennis and I left for Utah on Friday for my friend's wedding and will be gone for a month. Unfortunately, that means that we were not with Ryan on father's day. We called him this morning and he said that he waited and waited in bed but breakfast never came. :( We promise to make a random day super special for you, Ryan! Ryan is an extremely awesome dad- just ask Dennis. He LOVES this guy. Hope your day was special anyways! We love you!

stories

* We were in Minnesota having a good time. Dennis was eating big meals and playing hard. One night he woke us up screaming hysterics. We were puzzled. He hasn't woken up in the middle of the night in so long. I thought a drink might help him out but he just dumped in all over his pjs. So now he was screaming, wet and not wanting to take his clothes off. After a while of struggling with no success of getting them off Ryan decided to start asking him questions to figure it out. (Duh. My nighttime brain doesn't work so hot.) Dennis continued to cry through the questions until Ryan asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want some food?". The immediate response was, "FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD". No more screaming. No more fighting to get dry pjs on. He knew he was understood and would eventually get what he wanted. We went downstairs and he ate a pbj sandwich and went immediately back to bed without any fight. Growing much? After the week we measured him. Yep- 2 inches in 3 weeks.

* In the plane on the way to Utah Dennis was playing with some toys when the flight attendant came on the intercom and started to explain the safety instructions. Dennis must have thought that she was saying a prayer because he immediately folded his arms and bowed his head.

* Dennis loves to play chase and hide and go seek with his daddy.

minneapolis

On our last day we went to the Kobs picnic! All of the descendants of my great-great grandparents are invited to come. Dennis got to walk Buster and loved it.
We got to see my brother Reed and his family.

Dennis loves his cousins. As much as Dennis looks like Ryan- I think he looks a lot like my family too.
We also love cousin J! Isn't he adorable with his hair and glasses? I could just squeeze him.
And so sweet.
Now that school is out, we are starting to think more about the potty business. No success yet.
Love the pink sunglasses (they were mine when I was little).

lipstick anyone?Do you think Dennis had fun and grandma & grandpa's?

He got to play with all of my old toys-hence the lipstick. :/
WATER!!! Dennis has always loved the water but since he had croup he has been a little apprehensive.
... but he still had fun.
It was so funny- this girl on the playground thought it was gross that Dennis was still wet from the pool. haha
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a great trip! LOVEYOU

more cabin love

Dennis was watching a frog that jumped off of the dock into the lake.
big cheese~
LOVE THAT LAKE
family photo op

Bruno was hilarious! H spent at least 20 minutes in a stare down with the deer. Who do you think won? Bruno would walk back and forth eyes glued to this guy.

gg

On our way up to the cabin we stopped in to say hello to my grandma and Dennis's GG June. Wish we could have photo shoped the two pics taking gg from the first picture and Dennis from the second and throw out both of me. Oh well. We love you GG!

target field

Ryan and I finally got to go on a date! We used my family's season tickets to the Twins game. Boy oh boy were they good seats in an awesomely new stadium! Here was the view of the city from where I was sitting.

The beer guy recognized my parents sweat shirts that my mom made from the last game that they went to. Kinda fun that we are regulars.
Thanks mom and dad for babysitting and letting us go to the game.
