Compared to just a week ago... my plants have changed a ton! I planted these sunflowers from seed! You can see the asparagus at their feet- the little furry plants.
Our tomatoes have made it to the next ring on their cages and have blossoms.

Sick as a DOG
Our Dennis has caught another bug with a temperature of 100.9 and a constant stream of snot from his nose. On top of that he is probably getting some more teeth cause he has more drool than I have ever seen him have. Poor boy... 2 hours past his bed time and still struggling to fall asleep.

Our garden continues to grow and we LOVE it!

I'm so excited that I found another way to upload videos onto the blog since blogspot is all of a sudden having trouble... Let me know if it works.
Check a couple of posts back to the one about paying dennis allowance... there is another video there.

baby proofing
This morning I was blow drying my hair while Dennis was playing in his bedroom and just at the very last second I looked up to find Dennis reaching over the first basement step to try and grab a towel that was left there. I swear if I had looked up a second later... he would have been down those steps. I almost had a heart attack.
This afternoon we started baby proofing (since Dennis is quite the explorer now)/spring cleaning. We moved all chemicals on the top shelves instead of the bottom and washed the windows including the window sills (thank you mom for teaching me how to clean and the importance of it) and mopped the floor. Once again, Dennis was in the next room exploring and I heard a thud and immediately knew what it was... the bucket for mopping with chemicals in it. Luckily, I got there just in time so that he didn't pull it on top of himself... but it was close- he tried once. We are REALLY going to have to be more careful with things. yikes.

night-time is a bugger
Our whole family is just getting over a huge cold bug... that stuck around for over a week. And right before that Dennis had the runs for a week... and before that we had company several times... so we are finally making our way to having a schedule again and hoping that Dennis will then be able to sleep through the night like he used to. Instead of getting better, they were getting worse. I think one night I was up every hour... another I would go in and rock him until he fell asleep but when I would put him down he would immediately would wake up crying. I gave in and brought him to bed with me. I was starting to think that Dennis was just taking advantage of the fact that its hard for me to let him cry at all. Except that I thought his behavior was a little more extreme than that and he is really a good kid that likes to sleep. (I know my grammar is bad but I'm too lazy to fix anything because of lac of sleep) Today I picked him up at his babysitters to find him sleeping like a log. I moved him into his carseat without him waking up. Our totally awesome babysitter recognized the symptomes and sure enough here come 2 teeth. She put some gel on his gums and he could finally get some zzzz's. We will have to make a trip to walgreens. It's kinda hard to tell in the pics but you sure can feel them.

Late night parties
Last night we went to a spaghetti dinner and dessert auction to help the young women in our ward go to girls camp. There we some impressive desserts. We brought our homemade oreos that sold for $30/5 cookies... I didn't know people liked them so much. Well, we bought a couple of things. One of which was a bunch of cupcakes... no, this is not a picture of our spaghetti dinner its a picture of our dessert. :) Pretty incredible.

Dennis has found his favorite room in the house. Whenever we just let him play... he immediately inchworms his way to the bathroom to play with his tub toys. Do you think he likes his bath?

The newest addition to the family...
This is Sugar Maple... We picked her out from the rest at the nursery because she grows fast and is going to be very tall ~50ft. (we need a little height in our family) So far, she has adjusted nicely to her new home and Bruno, Buster, and Dennis have not shown any signs of jealousy. We are so happy... didn't quite feel like digging her out. We may run into trouble in the fall when she turns bright orange and red but by then it will be too late (90 day guarantee).

How does your garden grow?
Growing a garden from seed is so fulfilling. I like my store bought tomatoes and peppers and flower plants but I just don't love them as much as my babies ...
Here are four sunflowers. This is my first time trying sunflowers from seed and it is surprisingly easy and fun. They grow really fast and that's fun cause it gives you hope for the rest of your garden.
I thought this was a good picture when I took it but alas the carrots are not in focus. Ah-ha! Carrots do grow in dirt... not just sand.

26 years & 8 months
WOW... my birthday... and camille's, Nick's, Lindsay's, Jill's, and Doug's... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU GUYS! You have the best Birthdays ever.
I have found that every year my birthday is getting more and more boring. This year I took care of Dennis... the poor dude has the runs and an upset stomach. My favorite things about today were... going to sacrament meeting alone, coming home to a clean house (dishes, laundry, and a made bed compliments of my sweet husband), snuggling with Dennis through a great movie (only happens when he is sick otherwise will not even relax enough to lay his head down) and eating delicious brownies.
1. Madagascar 2... hilarious. Moto Moto is my favorite character. "she loves me, she loves my eyes, she loves me, she loves my thighs"... oh if being large and in charge were attractive.
2. Marley and Me... such a good movie for all. I loved it because it just showed his whole life really fast. Its neat to see life in the fast lane. It gives you a good perspective... do you want to have a family when you are 40 or do you still want to be creating a pick up line for the next moto moto that you see. I am soooo grateful for the choices that I have made.
It's also Dennis's 8 month birthday today. We shared it with some good memories:
