easter - catch up

For Easter and spring break, we went down to visit my parents in Florida. We always have such a good time there.
Zola found her Easter basket really fast. She saw the bright colored toys and knew it was for her!
Dennis' basket was a little harder to find.
Dad made sure to wake up to see them find their baskets.

... and when do I stop taking pictures?
Dennis loves the beach. It was a really cold day and it didn't stop Dennis from jumping in the waves. Notice nobody else is on the beach.

Zola didn't stay out very long. This was her first time down there and it was a little overwhelming with the wind and the noise and the cold.
 Everybody loves the pool.

This is posted a little backwards... we did dye eggs on Saturday... before Easter.
Zola wanted to help Dennis dye eggs so badly that I gave her a plastic egg in some water to play with. She was happy as a tick.

Good thing is was just water... She had many tastes.
Dennis was so proud of this one. He thought it was so cool when they were cracked. He definitely did it on purpose.

15 months

Zola is a very quiet sweet girl who is very cautious. She loves seeing her daddy on Skype. She loves the telephone and will pretend anything is a phone. She says, "aa-ooh" for hello. When she hears my phone ring she comes running. She is very cautious when meeting people. This is often the look she gives people. We call it the stink eye. She is very dramatic without saying much. She throws her body flat on the floor and lays there for about 30 seconds, looks up at you and does it again. She is very good at communicating without words. She started to nod this week instead of shake her head to every question. She bends her whole upper body forward-not just her chin. She loves to push buttons. She is very content and easy going. She loves girly things. Her favorite toys are a baby doll and a stuffed unicorn. She carries them around and hugs them. She loves her grandma and asks to be picked up often by hugging around the knees on her tippy toes. She loves hugs. There is nothing better than having her little arms squeezing around my neck. She loves to pinch with her little finger tips especially on the back of my arms our neck. She doesn't like to have dirty pants. She comes and lays down willingly when it's time to change. She loves her bath and often gets upset when it is over. We love this girl.

Paper airplanes

Dennis has a new obsession. He will make paper airplanes out of any kind of paper he finds. The last picture is his airplanes out of round paper plates. I love this boy.

Snowman alien

I may as well go out with a bang. It is the biggest snowfall since living in the lou for 7 YEARS!
I was so blessed with warm weather yesterday before we list our house. Today... Snow. Thank goodness we got everything done.

Last day of school. :(

The next couple of weeks are spring break for Dennis' school. Then we are moving to my parents house in Minneapolis until our house sells. So, sadly Dennis' time at they Bailey's Montessori has come to an end. We feel totally blessed to have gone there. Ryan and I were blown away by the routine of Montessori and how well it fits with Dennis' personality. Now we just have to find a school in Rochester that meets that high standard. It seems impossible.

sibling love

I love my kiddos. Dennis was sick today and stayed home from school. Most of the day he was laying on the couch watching TV. Zola layed down on top of him and put her face on his face (cheek to cheek) and slowly patted his mouth. I just love it how they love each other. Tonight as they were going to sleep, Zola started to cry a little. I heard Dennis say, "It's ok Zolie. Zolie. Zolie, It's ok". She calmed down and they both fell asleep. Moments like these are so tender to me. It reminds me of my deep love for my brothers and all the times that they comforted me. Even tho we will be moving into a bigger house next year, I think I will keep them in the same bedroom.
