one month

So sad that this picture didn't turn out better... her smile was beautiful.

Zola had her one month doctor's appointment today. The doctor said, "She is doing awesome!"

She is pretty much the best baby ever. LOVE HER!

Here are her stats:

Height: 19 3/4 in
Weight: 6lbs 11oz
Head: 35 cm

airplane yogurt

It sure is fun hearing all the things that Dennis comes up with. He used to call plain yogurt - airplane yogurt since he thought we were saying plane yogurt.

While putting together a mobile for Zola, Dennis said, "Heavenly Father made this hard for us to do, didn't he?" and then again this morning looking for the other strawberry oatmeal packet he said, "Heavenly Father made this hard for me to do."

One cold day I told Dennis to put on his jacket while we were headed out the door for school. He responded, "Thank you for thinking about me."

The other night he decided to sing himself to sleep with one song. He must not have been able to choose which song because he didn't even finish a full phrase from a single song- they were all mixed up. I wish I had a recording of it because it was pretty hilarious. He included insy winsy spider, hickory dickory dock, I am a child of God, The ABCs, and a lot that we couldn't figure out where it came from. He ended his masterpiece with a robust, "...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GOD". And that was the last we heard from him. He fell asleep.

And my favorite these days: "I begot" instead of "I forgot"

nonnie & kristen

We had some really fun visitors for President's Day weekend. Nonnie & Kristen came to meet Zola, play with Dennis and help us out around our house. First, we went to the zoo. Some of our favorite things were the baby monkey, the turtles, snakes, and birds. Like our stroller? Its a hand me down- hand me down... and we love it.

We took them to the City Diner because The King and I was closed on Monday. We REALLY loved our meal.
Then we went to the Science Center. Since Dennis got a marble run for Christmas, he LOVES marbles. This life sized marble run was a hit.
Dennis was terrified of the Dinosaurs that move and roar.
This is his genuine scared face.
Of course, we had to build an arch.

We were so sad to see them go. We had a great time!

One thing that Maree did for us was make a lot of freezer meals! That will come in handy when I go back to work. One of the recipes is one worth sharing with the world. It is totally delicious. I don't think I will ever get sick of this recipe.

I also have it pinned on Pinterest if you would prefer finding it that way.

the last valentine's day post

So, for Valentine's Day this year Ryan and I cleaned our room and rearranged the furniture. It is less convenient but it keeps our room clean. There is no place to put dirty clothes! So far, it has worked pretty well.
Dennis has been eating his candy slowly and enjoying every piece- about one a day. This was his favorite one... and the messiest. Thank you, Lyla.
