haitus

i know... this has been the longest that I have gone without blogging since Dennis was born. I am not a wordy person and I love pictures... so I usually post with a picture. Well, my camera has problems from time to time with its lense. It happened this summer and now it happened again. I was in Minnesota/Wisconsin at my cousin's wedding and as they started to walk down the isle my lense wouldn't focus and it gave me a warning message. So, unfortunately I don't have any pictures from the absolutely beautiful wedding. And then I gave my camera to my dad to carry because he had pockets. I forgot it. So, even though it is working fine again... its in MN. Not to worry, my parents are coming to visit next week. I can't wait!! I LOVE my parents. They could live at my house and I would be extremely happy. :) I am so lucky that they come and visit so often.

The wedding was so much fun! It was a weekend event (pictures soon) in Wisc. Everyone that came stayed at this woodsy resort. My parents rented a cabin that fit our whole family (except Ryan).

Cute things of Dennis during our trip to MN/WI
  • While the bridesmaids were coming down the isle, everyone was turning around in their seats. And, Dennis could see everyone's face that was sitting in front of us. He spots my great aunt Nancy that he met earlier that day and says pointing to her, "there she is!" really loud.
  • Dennis LOVES to dance. He couldn't get enough of the fact that we were all dancing and there were LIGHTS! He didn't stop the whole night.
  • During the "first dance" everyone was sitting and watching tara & zane slow dance. Dennis was on the side interpretive dancing to the slow music.
  • sleeping on vacation is always hard. Especially when you can climb out of your pack & play. I put Dennis to bed at my parents house and 10 minutes later I could hear him playing in the living room.
  • One day at the resort, I said "ok, its time to take a nap". Dennis said, "NOOOOO". I said, "Ok, you can sweep the floor first, and then you have to take a nap." So, he took the broom and did his "sweeping" with it. And, without prompting from me, grabbed his blanket and headed to his room. That was the greatest!

Most of all- I just love my family. I could have stayed in that little cabin forever. Miss you guys.

birthday bash

We celebrated Dennis' birthday this past weekend because Grandma Robyn was able to come! We had a great weekend despite the fact that I was in bed sick for the majority of the time.
For the bday we went to Grant's Farm. Next time we will leave the stroller at home... as you can see it just slowed us down.
We got to ride a "train".And see some buffalo.
some Texas longhorn cows and a wild mustang
a jumbo elephant
some parrots
and of course, the goats.

Dennis was so excited to ride on the carousel
until it started to move- it was so funny, he would cry and then stop when he saw us... over and over.

After nap time Dennis opened presents! He LOVES his legos. Thank you Nonnie & Papa.playing with grandma's camera.
LEGOS!

Here was the cake... Dennis LOVES M&Ms so we did a simple cake- but it was sooo delicious... its the "better than Robert Redford" cake (as my mom calls it). I know... its not that cool- I wouldn't be surprised to find it on cake wrecks someday. Oh well. I just wanted to leave room for improvement for next year. You can't set the bar too high at only 2.
Thank you Grandma & Grandpa for the wagon! Dennis LOVES it.
And I made Dennis this little city to play cars on. I got the idea from Nonnie's house. There are drive in garages, drive thru McDs, car wash and gas pump. It doesn't compare to his legos but maybe he will like it in 6 months when he is tired of the legos.

We LOVE Grandma! Thank you sooo much for coming. We miss you.

honey bunches of oats

is what we eat for breakfast almost every morning... well, the cheap aldi version of them. And, Dennis really likes them as much as I do. This morning he was working on seconds when I decided to leave him to take a shower. When I came out this is what I found: he had thirds and fourths... and even shared with the dogs (who waited patiently until he was done).

almost

2 years old. For his birthday, I was planning on making a quilt... I started by picking up fabrics that I liked, and then filling in with fabrics I had... then picking out a pattern. Its actually turning out a lot cuter than I thought it was going to be. I still wished I picked a different color scheme- but oh well. Its cute. I highly doubt it will be done for his b-day though.
my big boy finally got his own pair of these...
... and he wants to grow up to be his mommy. :)
