memorial day at the cabin

This was the first year in a very long time that I was able to go to the cabin for Memorial Day. It was super fun. Randy and our cousin Deon put together this fun hay ride behind our tractor.
It had been the rainiest May in 10 years so we enjoyed rides until the tractor got stuck in the woods. The trailer is still in the woods waiting for the ground to dry out.

Dennis is getting so strong. All he wanted to do was wrestle. I think he gave everyone a run for their money.

Zola slept through it all with grandpa.
Here we have 4 generations of girls. The next one in line would be Zola, my great grandmother.
James fell in the water off of the dock two times almost three. He was super cute. Without crying he came up to the cabin with his dad. He looked at us with big eyes soaked head to toe and was telling us the entire story (mumbling toddler form). This is was we heard, "down there ... mumble... down there... mumble... no swimming."
Dennis was wearing my life jacket from when I was a kid. Good thing we never had to see if it actually still floats.

James loves dogs. He was so sweet to them all.
its cute enough to melt your heart.
Dennis did go swimming for about 5 minutes. It was too cold. Most of the time in the 50s and 60s.
James loving the dog with his foot.
Zola got a new cousin a week prior to the trip. Incredibly they are about the same size. 3.5 months verses 1 week.

Dennis did some fishing. His favorite place to fish was in the live well. There were 2 big bass to choose from. :)

Zola is getting stronger! The day after memorial day, She rolled over!

Dennis was enjoying a quiet moment watching Charlotte's Web and feeding a teddy bear a bottle. Such a good daddy.
Chrissy or we should call her wonder woman and I went for several walks 2 miles long a week after she had her baby.

Owen Ronald Kannas and Zola Maree Elizabeth Funk
Cute cousins.
